He immersed himself in Cuban rhythms, broke through with the experimental Portico Quartet and solo found his own voice: warm, philosophical and full of eloquence. His songs, sometimes small and whispering, sometimes grand and carried, breathe a deep connection with the earth, the spirit of the times and everything in between.
