For the American act Warpaint, artistic innovation and making quality music are the main drivers, and it took six years before their debut album The Fool (2010) saw the light of day. The indie rock quartet from Los Angeles fronted by Emily Kokal finally broke through four years later with their dreamy eponymous second album, which was masterfully produced by the much-lauded Flood, and brought them international cult status. Although Warpaint has the art of creating wondrous songs with tracks such as Love Is To Die and the recently released Champion down to perfection, it is mainly the mesmeric atmosphere that makes their shows so special. So, when they take to the stage at Pinkpop, expect lush harmonies wrapped in gorgeous melodies, transporting you to their soulful and unique universe.
