There’s no denying that The Smiths and The Beatles have impacted the music of British indie band The Lathums, and fans of Artic Monkeys and Stone Roses will also pick up on a connection. Even so, the group centred around frontman Alex Moore definitely has its own sound, with a different musical nuance featuring in each song. Their album How Beautiful Life Can Be immediately shot to the top of the British charts, with the press and critics raving about the band. Whereas their debut might lean slightly towards melancholy, the new album From Nothing To A Little Bit More signals a much more positive turn. A concert by The Lathums is characterised by some spectacular guitar work and superb vocals by Moore. Anyone catching these young guns live will no doubt be captivated by their irresistible energy.
