The fab female four of The Big Moon make up one of the frontrunners in the resurgence of indie pop with a raw punk edge, the genre that enjoyed a buoyant revival in the nineties. Theirs is a success story that started six years ago with the stunning debut Love In The 4th Dimension, which promptly landed on the shortlist for the prestigious British Mercury Prize. Right now, the London band led by frontwoman Juliette Jackson has managed to create a body of work comprising three rock-solid albums (including Walking Like We Do in 2020 and Here Is Everything in 2022), plus gain tons of live experience, so there’s no better time for this captivating female force to make their debut at Pinkpop. The Big Moon has a seductively playful, musical side, but if you listen carefully to the lyrics, you can pick out the mature themes that rip through their songs like a confrontational thread.
