Although Lauren Sanderson’s surprising 2020 debut album Midwest Kids Can Make It Big was highly regarded, the independent singer-songwriter from LA has evolved way beyond that now. Her music still leans towards R&B and hip hop, however, 27-year-old Sanderson’s lyrics have gotten bolder, wilder and more direct, as evidenced by her new album Death Of A Fantasy. Sanderson wants to be a mouthpiece for fans and people who are either afraid to, or not allowed to speak. With her tough work ethic and vibrant personality, she’s shot past the impressive mark of 100 million streams. “I don’t want to play the underdog anymore,” the singer explains. “I know what I’m capable of, and I’m ready to bring the star power.” We say come on over to Pinkpop Lauren, and shower us with some of that stardust!
