Kevin & The Animals

Rotterdam rapper Kevin’s nickname Slowflowanimal is actually kind of misleading, as his debut album Kleine Versnelling was in no way slow to become a hit record, hitting the Top 50 within a day, and simply staying right there. The follow-ups Lente, VRIJ and Animal Stories also all came straight in at number 1. In 2021, his career was still gaining pace, with an Edison for Best Hip-hop and platinum for 150 million streams of Animal Stories. He also released the successor to Kleine Versnelling, the aptly named album Grote Versnelling (Dutch for ‘major acceleration’), featuring the hits Fisherman and Samen. The album was accompanied by a sold-out tour, and that same year, the rapper took home another four FunX Awards. Nothing ‘slow flow’ about Kevin then!
