When Hannah Mee and Jim Shaw met at a trendy bar in Manchester for the first time, it sparked a friendship for life – and a creative one at that, because the two then founded the emo power pop punk band Hot Milk, in which they play vocals and guitar. They didn’t have a long wait for success either, as their first EP Are You Feeling Alive? immediately led to a support slot for the Foo Fighters, and a major billing at both Reading and Leeds Festival. The fact that Mee and Shaw harbour sizeable ambitions is evident from their desire to go and conquer the United States. By the time they arrive at Pinkpop, they’ll have completed a tour across South America, in addition to the US. So, get prepared to pogo along to the energetic punk spirit of Hot Milk!
