Although the American band Disturbed is among the most successful metal bands of this century, selling some 17 million albums to date, the formation led by singer David Draiman have never taken the stage before at Pinkpop. So, this will be an extra special performance in Landgraaf, because the quartet is playing their first ever Pinkpop, with seven albums full of screeching guitar work to pick from, of which no less than five records reached the top position in the Billboard 200 chart. The songs of these Chicago men leave you immersed in a universe of their own creation, with Draiman’s impressive baritone vocals making it somewhere you won’t want to leave. The standout track is their cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s Sound Of Silence, which has been hovering around as a bit of an oddity in the upper echelons of the ‘wholesome’ Top 2000 for years.
