Icelandic disco pop sensation Dadi Freyr had been making music for over a decade before gaining worldwide acclaim in 2020: precisely the year in which the Covid pandemic brought public life to a standstill – just when Freyr and his side project Gagnammagnid were one of the biggest contenders for the Eurovision Song Contest with the catchy Think About Things. The contest was cancelled, but the song still managed to find a way to be heard, with celebrities like Jennifer Garner and Russell Crowe even posting it on their social media. The combination of a hilarious music video, some quirky dance moves in a series of oversized turquoise jumpers, and its upbeat mood, made Think About Things go viral, surpassing 100 million streams. Last year, Freyr made their return to the music front with a batch of new and irresistible tracks, such as 10 Years and Clear My Head.
