The Turkish-Dutch Altın Gün knows what it feels like to conquer a hall or festival terrain, as the six members from Amsterdam started out seven years ago performing at neighborhood parties and – with their energetic show bursting with psychedelic Turkish folk music draped over a funky disco mix – worked their way up to some major international festivals. The formation started by Jasper Verhulst and singer Erdinç Ecevit not only interweaves various contrasting styles into their music, but also multiple timelines, because their shows effortlessly swing between the seventies and the electronically infused present.
